This project is being produced and performed by Sicut Dico, friend and manager of bogolepov.
Gene Sophia Bogolepov was born in Leningrad, but after releasing ‘Mother Russia’ in October 2017 she had to leave the country for good due to prosecution & discrimination. Gene’s position regarding putin’s aggression in Ukraine is well known. There are also Ukrainian people in the Bogolepov team, including the band’s drummer.
That’s why we feel like this song shouldn’t be played at her live shows, where we want to share love and hope. Instead, ‘Mother Russia’ and ‘Serpent Song’ (a new composition of Bogolepov from her upcoming album that explores the insides of a psychopath’s head on putin’s example), along with the newest addition – ‘RAGE’, a song by Pussy Riot and WHOKILLEDXIX (courtesy of Nadya Tolokonnikova) – are meant to be heard by those working or visiting the embassies of the terrorist state or people visiting russian orthodox churches. This is why we have created this project – ‘requiems of tomorrow’
This event has already taken place in Berlin and Prague, but we are eager to add more songs and artists to it, and of course expand our geography and targeting. Would you want to suggest us to make this event in your city? Any ideas on locations? We’re very much looking forward to all sorts of collaboration!
