20 Years Of Love and Struggle / How It Started – How It’s Going
Hey there, nice to see you reading this – I have always been too shy to be open, and some people thought it was arrogance or reclusiveness. No, it’s no arrogance and definitely no reclusiveness, it’s genuine shyness mixed with my strive for decency – I never wanted to bug any of you with too much information.
And I am even too shy to say it out loud – I’ve been making music and playing it publicly for 20 years! Oh gosh, that’s a reason to celebrate, or maybe it’s a reason to mourn? Who knows! But that’s a huge milestone for me, that’s for sure.
I have also been silent for a while – since Russia has invaded Ukraine I felt like the public social space should be left free for important messages. There’s no place for vanity, I thought. But really, at the end of the day, life goes on. And I do my freakin’ best to help people from Ukraine, but this fact doesn’t make me become less of an artist, so my work continues. And so is my decision – I will continue living, working and talking to my people.
After four months of silence and doubts I am finally back here, on the waves of the Internet. And whatever the weather, whatever happens around, I want to celebrate my anniversary. Perhaps with a little less joy and more anxiety mixed into the cocktail of my emotions, but nevertheless – I feel like we should meet and we should talk.
So I came up with an idea – I will invite you darlings to four performances. I have divided my artistic life into four periods – T-Lazarus, Gender ID, 1314 and Bogolepov. This means that I will play four shows for each period, where I revisit my old and new songs and talk about them, and on top of that I will play some cover songs of artists who influenced me within every period.
“How It Started – How It’s Going” is a project that means much more than just a retrospective for me. It’s a precious opportunity to revisit my earlier years and the ways I saw my life then. Wanna talk about it and have a very intimate access to the things I felt throughout my life? You’re welcome to join me on this journey!
The Berlin show dates are as follows:
28/07 – 20 Years: Part I
01/09 – 20 Years: Part II
09/10 – 20 Years: Part III
23/11 – 20 Years: Part IV
Tickets will cost 12 euro and will be on sales next week. Amount of tickets is limited to 50 due to the venue capacity.
All current patrons have free access to all four shows.
New patrons from tier “Benefactor” and up also get free access to all for shows.
